100th Post!

   Wow!  It has taken me a long time to get here!  I just looked back at my archives and saw that my one year “blogoversary” will be on October 16th.  SO, it has taken me almost a year to reach my 100th post!  But -that is O.K. with me!  Blogging is something that I enjoy, but it is also something that ranks about number 36 on my ’to do’ list!!   With that said, I would like to continue this 100th post by listing 100 things about me, that you may/may not know!  These will be random – in no particular order – as they pop into my head, I will write them!

  1.  I love God!
  2. I am so thankful for Christ’s redemption for my life, that I am so undeserving of.
  3. I have been married for 7 years to my husband whom I love more than I can express!!
  4. My husband and I dated for almost 2 years before we got married.
  5. I am also thankful for God’s redeeming grace in his life,  and for continually forming him into the man He desires him to be.
  6. I have a 4-almost-5-year-old little boy who is so precious to me, and I am so thankful for the opportunity to raise him.
  7. I have a 2-almost-3-year-old beautiful girl whom I adore, and am also so thankful for the opportunity to raise.
  8. I homeschool my children.
  9. I am currently 18 weeks pregnant!
  10. I would love to have 4 or 5 children.
  11. I love being organized, but lack discipline, and have to work extreemely hard at being organized!
  12. My husband is currently in Seminary.
  13. We felt called by the Lord a couple years ago to go on an oversees missions assignment for a few years, after my husband finishes Seminary (maybe 6 years from now??? only God knows!)
  14. We lived and worked 24/7 at a Maternity Home for young unwed teens/women in crisis pregnancy situations for 7 months - while Trevor was 3 and Zoe was 1.
  15. We recently moved from a small town to a large city, so Jared could go to Seminary.
  16. We feel that the Lord has called us to work in some type of full time ministry after Seminary, and after the mission field, but aren’t sure what that will be yet!
  17. The Lord began to draw me to himself towards the end of High School. 
  18. I have one sibling – a sister – and we are 2.5 years apart.
  19. My sister and I are close friends, and always have been.
  20. My dad passed away from a brain tumor when I was 18 – the spring semester of my first year of college.
  21. All though my dad and I were never very close, I got to spend some precious time with him before he passed away – and I am very thankful for that!
  22. My mom remarried a couple years ago.
  23. I am a Navy brat – my dad was in the Navy for 20 years.
  24. Three out of 4 of my grandparents are still alive, and I LOVE them all!
  25. I also LOVE my husbands grandparents – just like my own!
  26. I love to play tennis – I started playing when I was 13.
  27. I played Varsity tennis all through High School
  28. I had the privelage of playing (with scholarships) on 2 different college tennis teams.
  29. I received my associates degree from my first college.
  30. Jared and I got married after we graduated from our Junior College – I was 19, he was 20!
  31. When I was in my final year at the University I attended after the junior college (27 hours away from graduation) we found out we were expecting our first sweet blessing – Trevor!
  32. I love teaching!  It is what I always knew I wanted to do, since I was a little girl.
  33. Besides teaching my kids at home, I love teaching children’s Sunday School.
  34. I love my new church and my old church, and am so thankful for the amazing body of believers God has placed us in!
  35. I love to read books – anything that helps guide me and strengthen me in my walk with God!
  36. I knit – when I get on one of my knitting kicks!
  37. I love to decorate cakes – for my kids birthdays, and for baby showers!
  38. I just learned how to sew, and love to do it, and would love to get really good at it!
  39. My honeymoon was in Cancun (I warned you this was random!)
  40. I enjoy selling/buying on ebay.
  41. My favorite color is pink.
  42. My favorite drink is Starbucks
  43. I was a quiet/shy child, and haven’t changed all that much – I think that usually comes across as snobby – so it is something I am trying to work on!
  44. If I am going to watch a sport on TV my favorite thing to watch is, of course, tennis! 
  45. My second favorite sport to watch on TV is Basketball.
  46. I consider myself a frugal person
  47. I am not a shop-o-holic, but maybe if we were rich I would be!
  48. My favorite books in the Bible are Psalms, Proverbs, Corinthians, Romans, Ephesians, Phillipians, Timothy, Colossians, and the Gospels.
  49. Some of my favorite passages from God’s Word are: Phillipians 2:1-18; 2 Corinthians 12:9; Colossians 3, Proverbs 31, Psalm 34, 2 Corinthians 1:3-5; Ephesians 5
  50. Some of my favorite music Artists are: Sara Groves, Shane and Shane, Jeremy Camp, Barlow Girl, Casting Crowns
  51. I like to play games (board games, etc).
  52. I like taking pictures.
  53. I like to blog.
  54. I like to plan and prepare.
  55. I love going to the beach – my favorite vacation spot!
  56. I love being with my family – it doesn’t matter what we are doing.
  57. I am a homebody – I am not a go-go-go kind of person – I love being at home – when I am away from home for a long time I miss it.
  58. I have never been snow skiing.
  59. I have never been rock climbing.
  60. I have been to Disney World twice with our kids and twice when I was a kid
  61. I have been to Disney Land once with our kids, and once when I was a kid.
  62. Spring is my absolute favorite season!
  63. I love Christmas.
  64. My favorite ice cram is Blue Bell-Coffee flavor
  65. My favorite candy: Milk Duds, or Hot Tamales, or Red Vines, or Hershey’s Cookie N’ Cream
  66. My favorite type of chocolate: white
  67. My favorite type of food: Italian
  68. I love fruit!
  69. My favorite types of movies: comedy & romance (of course!)
  70. One of my favorite things in the world is when my kids come up to me out of the blue, hug me, and say, “mommy, I love you!”
  71. I love that my husband brings me fresh flowers once a week, just because he loves me!
  72. I love it when the kids go to bed and I get to be alone with my husband.
  73. I love it when someone watches the kids for a few hours while my husband and I go on a date, and it feels like we are dating all over again!
  74. I love how God so perfectly matched my husband and I together - and made all our opposites fit so perfectly together.
  75. My favorite restaurant is the Olive Garden
  76. I was once a waitress there – in college!
  77. I like to ride roller coasters.
  78. I don’t like to clean, but I like my house to be clean.
  79. I like shoes – they are my favorite thing to shop for.
  80. The things I think are funny, my husband doesn’t – and vice versa.
  81. My hair is really long right now – the longest it has ever been.
  82. I am an aunt – I have a neice who is 3 and a nephew who is 1
  83. I can’t sing – but I wish I could.
  84. I wear glasses.
  85. I took piano lessons when I was a kid, but I can’t play the piano.
  86. I like lip gloss, and I don’t like lipstick
  87. My eyes are brown and green.
  88. My hair is brown.
  89. If I could only choose one type of makeup to use it would be mascara.
  90. I am a pretty easy-going, go with the flow kind of person.
  91. However there are certain hot-button topics that will get me really fired up!
  92. The only places I have been outside of the US are Mexico and Canada – but my husband has been to Belguim, France, and Africa.
  93. I am simple when it comes to picking out clothes – I like to buy things that will mix and match with several other items in my wardrobe.
  94. I was born in Chicago, but only lived there for the first 6 weeks of my life.
  95. I lived near San Diego until I was 9.
  96. When I was a child, and we lived in CA, we had 4 horses – a miniature horse named ‘Little Britches’, a shetland pony named ‘Thunder’, a quarter horse named ‘King’ and a Thouroughbred named ‘Jam Man’
  97. I haven’t rode a horse since I was in 5th grade.
  98. I had a pet snake (a rosy boa) when I was 7 named Medusa.
  99. I always (at least) had a dog when I was a kid, but don’t have any pets now.
  100. I am SO glad this is number 100, and I am done!
