Ok, so this isn’t really going to be wordless! I thought I would share this fun, God-centered Thanksgiving tradition with you! Here is a picture of our “Thankful Tree.” This was supposed to have been started Nov. 1st, so we were late with it, but there are still plenty of days until Thanksgiving for this tradition!
Here is how it works:
You ask the question, “What are you most thankful to God for?” Then write each family members response on a leaf and stick it on the tree. Repeat this daily until Thanksgiving. You can read each person’s response as you place it on the tree, and/or read them all on Thanksgiving Day. This could be done as simply or elaborate as you like. We have cut out a tree from brown posterboard. You could also use a bare branch placed in a flower pot, and then hang your thankful leaves on it!
***Stay tuned!! I will be posting some more Christ-centered Thanksgiving ideas this week!***

I wanted to do this, too! I loved the idea when I heard it at the brunch. We haven’t done it yet, though, so needless to say we’re late, too. But we’re going to do it all week this week. Since we’ve already had our Thanksgiving meal, it will give us something to focus on for this week. And since there’s no ballet or good news club and we aren’t going anywhere, we’ll be able to focus on thankfulness without other distractions.

[...] Now That the Vacation is Over… Our Thanksgiving vacation was a very quiet and peaceful one, here at home. Since we did our main Thanksgiving Supper the Saturday before, it was just us and a simple little turkey dinner. Big Daddy didn’t work from Wednesday to Monday and there was no Good News Club or ballet, so we just hung out and had family time and well, okay we mostly watched tv and played on the computer. We did also make a Thankful Tree: [...]
