I have neglected my Monday Meanderings posts for a few weeks now ~ but I’m back! I don’t have any huge plans this week, but do need to take better responsibilty for my home ~ I have been too relaxed with it and distracted from it lately.
On a side note, I would like to let you know that I will again be participating the the quarterly Bloggy Giveaway hosted by Shannon from Rocks in my Dryer! Be looking for that post in the morning to find out what I am giving away!
Here is the plan for this week:
1. Bible Study - This week I am in Psalms 50-55 along with doing my Galations study that we are doing for our Care Group.
Our Church Scripture memorization for this week is: “Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you..”
Hebrews 13:17
2. “Must Do List“
This week I “Must”
-
Stick to my daily schedule – as God allows!
-
Exercise at least 3 days/week
- Homeschool
-
Prepare SS lesson for Sunday
-
Prepare meal for/and bring to a friend at church
3. Zones - The way I try to have my cleaning is set up (I say “try” because I don’t always stick to this the way I would like to!), is to have a certain deep cleaning chore each day of the week. Then there are some monthly deep cleaning items that are done on a specific day of the week. These are on top of the daily chores. Here is how the weekly tasks work:
-
Monday - weekly kitchen deep clean; wash colors
-
Tuesday – weekly furniture/electronics dusting; wash whites
-
Wednesday - monthly room deep clean rotation; wash denim
-
Thursday – Sweep porches/hose down patio chairs; vacuum/mop entire house ; wash colors
-
Friday – weekly bathroom’s deep clean; wash bedding
-
Saturday – Wash/clean out cars; wash towels, floor mats
-
Sunday - Rest!
4. Train Then Up – Right now the kids and I are doing a morning devotion out of a book called, “Leading Little Ones To God.”
In school this week (in My Father’s World) we will be focusing on Cows and “God’s Word Helps Me Grow.”
Also, for bedtime devotionals, we are reading the new Jesus Storybook Bible we bought Trevor for Christmas.
5. Menu Planning

Again this week I will be attempting to use what we have on hand for our meals for the most part!
-
Monday: Chicken Gumbo, salad, dinner rolls
-
Tuesday: Slow Cooker Pot Roast with potatoes and carrots
-
Wednesday: Meatleaf, Mashed potatoes, peas
-
Thursday: Soft Tacos, Spanish Rice, beans
-
Friday: Breakfast for Dinner: Banana Pancakes, eggs, fruit salad

You know, reading your Monday Meanderings has been tempting me to join in. I just might end up doing that some time soon.
The menu looks great and I’m using a lot of what I have on hand this week, too!
