Dancing Queen

My little Zoe’s personality at it’s finest! My kids and their cousins had an impromptu Easter dance party, and when the camera’s out Zoe is in her element: the spotlight. She sure keeps life fun!

Vacation – Sweet Grandparents Edition

On to the photos!  Our reason for going to Florida over the Christmas/New Year holiday was to spend time with my sweet grandparents who live there!  We had so much fun staying with them for 5 nights!  They are a couple of the best {Read More}

Happy Thanksgiving 2011!

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow!! I don’t know about you, but my day today was spent “setting up the pins,” as Sara Groves would say. 🙂 Enjoy spending time with family and friends tomorrow, and taking time to reflect on God’s faithfulness in your life.  Happy Thanksgiving!

{Not So} Wordless Wednesday – Pumpkin Gardening

The first three pie pumpkins from my garden (they are now completely orange).  Getting ready to cook them up for some yummy fall treats!  I am loving growing pumpkins in my garden.  They are crazy, and taking over my yard – but so neat to grow!  I have at least 5 more that will be ready to pick very soon. A few more pics of the garden {taken on my iPhone}… I started out with 1 tiny row in 1/2 {Read More}

Scripture Sunday – 7/10/11

“Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.  Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the {Read More}

Scripture Sunday – 6/12/11

Who is wise and understanding among you?  By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.  But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth.  This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.  For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice.  But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full {Read More}

Tornado Victim Fundraiser

My heart is ACHING for those who have lost their homes, and their family members – in last weeks tornadoes all over the southeast.  As I mentioned last week, one of my favorite fellow bloggers, Kelly, from Generation Cedar lost her home in the tornado.  They of course, were not the only ones.  However, they stand out in my heart so much, since I am a reader of Kelly’s blog, and have been so blessed by her.  They also had {Read More}

It’s been another busy, but fun week around here.  We completed 5 days of school this week!  We normally do 4-day school weeks, but are trying to do a little catch up from being sick…so we will have 5-day weeks for a little while. Trevor’s been learning about constellations, finished his study on dinosaurs and dragons, Persia and Greece in 400-500 B.C., verbs, adding and subtracting money, the reading genre “humor” – reading Owls in The Family, along with his {Read More}

Goal Setting ~ Part 1 – God’s Word

With the New Year rolling in, I thought it would be helpful to take a step by step look at how to set and achieve goals for 2011 or anytime. First we need to take a look at what God’s word has to say about making plans.  The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.  Proverbs 16:9 I first and foremost want to recognize that while planning is a good thing, we must always keep {Read More}
