Of Apologia and Internet

Here I am, blogging from my iPhone again (or rather-still)! Yep, still no internet in the house! Have I mentioned AT&T DSL totally stinks? Actually that would be the people working for AT&T who don’t have their act together! Seriously! They said ‘you might be without internet for an hour at most.‘ some how that hour has turned into 8 days – and still – NADA! Moral of the story – if you have the option to have Internet other {Read More}

7 Years of Precious Life

My girl ~ my sweet daughter ~ turned 7 yesterday. (Our Internet has been out all week, so I decided to go ahead and write this from my iPhone. I hope it turns out alright.) Anyone else get all emotional around birthdays? I really can’t help it. And i’m not really talking about crying emotional – but thoughtful, introspective, emotional. I think about their birth-day. Think about the past years we’ve spent with them during their life. Think about how {Read More}

Enjoy Your Kids

As homeschool moms, and moms of little ones, we spend so much time with our kids.  We are with them 24/7 – 365!  But how much of that time is spent enjoying them? There is so much to do in a day, so much to accomplish for the week.  We have our homes to care for, keep up, and clean. Laundry, meal planning and preparations each day.  Spending time with the Lord each day (should of course attain our greatest {Read More}

THE Haircut!

For about 2 years now, Zoe has been asking us to allow her to chop off her gorgeous long hair! {Photo by: Mia Coelho – Compassion Photography} We held her off as long as we could, believing she just didn’t know what she was asking!!! 🙂 It’s not that she didn’t love her long hair…she did!!  Of course there were certain things about it she didn’t like.  She was just ready for a change. The time finally came that we decided {Read More}

Family Time Memories – Winter Camp-out

This past weekend, we had our first ever indoor campout!  It couldn’t have come at a better time, either. After a day full of fun in the SNOW, we got to cozy up and relax with an awesome family campout in our nice warm house! We got it all set up in our upstairs game/school room. The kids had fun getting their sleeping bags set up just right around mommy and daddy’s air mattress (which had mostly deflated by morning {Read More}

Trivial Pursuits

This is one of the many lessons it seems God has been beating me over the head with teaching me lately. 🙂  How easy it is for me to get sucked into the meaningless.  To run after so many pursuits, but neglect the most important pursuits of my life.  My husband, my children, my home, my God, my relationships!  Because really, at the end of the day, those are the only things that will have mattered in my life.   {Read More}

All I want for Christmas…

Is my two front teeth….and heck – a bottom tooth would be nice too!   And here is a little video of my toothless son!  He is usually pretty shy, so I was pretty surprised when he actually consented to singing a song on video….he wanted to do it “his way” though!

Can He Really Be 8???

Yes, Thursday was our sweet Trevor’s 8th birthday!!!  So hard to believe, but it is true!! Where do I even start when describing this sweet boy?!  He is such an amazing blessing in our lives…more than a parent could ever hope for in a son!  And we know God gets all of the credit and all of the glory for creating this amazing child!   I can not even believe that we have already had 8 years with him!  He has such {Read More}

6 Years Old

Zoe turns 6 years old today!    I can’t even express how thankful I am that God so graciously placed her in our family, and blessed us with her!  She is such a joy and delight to have in our lives.  And she certainly lives up to her name (‘life of grace’)!  She is so full of life, makes us dependent on God’s grace to raise her (lol), and has needed much grace herself, even in her young life as she {Read More}

   I know my blog has been pretty quiet lately.  We are just enjoying the  summer!  I plan on our summer break being pretty short this year, so I am trying to fit a lot of fun into a short amount of time.  Our school year ended June 12th, and I plan to start our new school year back up on August 3rd.  I want to start a month earlier than usual so that hopefully I can plan some extra breaks throughout {Read More}

Peace in Suffering

   I have had great intentions of blogging all week…but as you can see, that never happened!!    Monday night at midnight (so technically Tuesday morning) I headed to my sister’s house for her homebirth!  A week overdue, she was finally in labor!  After 24 long hours of hanging out with her while she labored, her third child, a baby girl was born –  all 10lbs, 6 oz of her!!    So, this week started out with all of the {Read More}

It’s been a while…

…and it will be a little while longer…(before I come back from my break that is)!    We are super busy this week packing up our house for a move on Saturday!  So after Friday, I wont be around for a little while until we have internet up and going again at our new place.    Just to give a quick little baby update…I am now a little over 10 weeks along and things seem to be going great with {Read More}

Some of my favorites

As I mentioned in my post last night, I took some pictures of the kids at the Botanic Gardens.  I said I would share a few of my favorites, so here they are!

Sometimes Peaceful….     Sometimes Stressful…       Often humorous…     …But ALWAYS a JOY by the grace of God, and in the strength He provides!!!
