Scripture Sunday ~ 6/24/12

In Acts right now for my quiet times.  This is one of the passages that stood out to me the most this week.

Scripture Sunday – 11/20/11

For scripture Sunday this week, I thought I’d share the passage my son Trevor  taught during his Karate class a week ago.  It was such a blessing to witness him be so bold.  From signing up to teach a Bible study (without any prompting what-so-ever from us), to getting up in front of 2 Karate classes, full of adults and children to proclaim God’s word, teaching it verse by verse to the class – it was something to truly be {Read More}

Scripture Sunday – 9/18/11

Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.  Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you.  Only let us hold true to what we have attained. {Read More}

Scripture Sunday – 8/7/11

“For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Galations 6:8-9

Scripture Sunday ~ 7/31/11

“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:12-13 ESV

Scripture Sunday 7/24/11

“Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the {Read More}

 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, Psalm 103:2-4

Scripture Sunday – 6/26/11

We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done.  Psalm 78:4

Scripture Sunday – 6/19/11

As a father shows compassion to his children,so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him.  Psalm 103:13   Happy Father’s Day to all those great daddies out there!!!  May you seek the Lord continually as you guide and shepherd the hearts of your children!

Scripture Sunday ~ 2/13/11

Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity. But that is not the way you learned Christ!— assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth {Read More}

Scripture Sunday ~ 2/6/11

Remember my affliction and my wanderings, the wormwood and the gall! My soul continually remembers it and is bowed down within me. But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” Lamentations 3:19-24

Scripture Sunday ~ 1/30/11

As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:14-16

Scripture Sunday ~ 1/23/11

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trial of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:2-4

Scripture Sunday ~ 1/16/11

And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. Luke 9:23-24
