We Have a Big Announcement!

We are ADOPTING!! Adoption is something the Lord first put on our hearts a little over 10 years ago. The Lord has now brought us to the place where He has made it very clear to us that it is now time for us to grow our family through adoption! In fact, He has specifically put a boy on our hearts that we feel He is calling us to adopt – to be a part of our family forever and ever! We {Read More}

Reflecting on this Past Year

One year ago today, I delivered our little Brendan David at 18.5 weeks, who was already with Jesus.  What a year it has been.  I wish I could say I have been fine, and pulled through beautifully, but the truth is, losing this baby has been the most difficult grief out of our three boys that have been born stillborn between 18-21 weeks.   This year was hard.  Very hard. But even in the hard, God has been so faithful.  He is {Read More}

Felicity’s One Year Old “Sunshine & Rainbows” Birthday Party

4 Months ago, we had Felicity’s One Year Birthday Party.  Since we have called her our “little sunshine” from birth, and she is our sweet little “rainbow baby,”  I decided to go with a “Sunshine & Rainbows” themed birthday party. Here are some photos from her special day… The Food Table.  Rainbow table cloth from Target. All of the Sunshine signs, posters, banners, etc I purchased from this Etsy shop. I made rainbow cupcakes for the guests, and a sun-shiny smash {Read More}

Teach Your Kids How to Have a Quiet Time

Today I am over at the Teach Them Diligently Blog talking about teaching your kids how to have a quiet time.  Head on over there to read the whole post….   About a year and a half ago I began to think about what a huge blessing it would be to my kids if I taught them how to have a quiet time.  What does that mean?  What does it look like?  How do you do it?   ….To read this {Read More}

Our Chore & Routine System {Vlog}

My son and I created a vlog on how our chore & routine system works.  This system kills 2, well really 3, birds with one stone.  Not only does it help them complete their daily chores, it also regulates electronic time, and helps teach saving/spending principles. I came up with this system about 2 years ago, and have loved how well it has worked for our family.  We were really looking for 2 big things with our kids at the {Read More}

What Do Your Kids Think About This Past Homeschool Year?

Today, I am blogging over at the Teach Them Diligently blog. Head on over there to read the rest of this post!   When it comes time to evaluate the past school year and decide what you will do for the next one, what do you do? Pray and seek God’s direction? Weekly Wrap-Up {6/30/13-7/6/13}

In my life this week… The week started off with a visit to Care Now for our daughter.  Her fever was getting worse, and she was having horrible ear pain.  That was followed up by a visit to her pediatrician the next day.  Turned out to be a severe swimmers ear infection.  (She hasn’t even been swimming – go figure) Poor girl.  It was a rough 4 days or so, but she is doing much better now. Thankfully she was {Read More}

What do you do in those moments?  How do you guard your heart and {Read More}

12 Things I Learned From Our Day at the Beach

While we were in Florida, visiting my grandparents, we had a chance to spend a day at the beach.  We headed to Daytona Beach, as it was the closest to my grandparents house. This was a day with a couple of firsts for our family.  It was Felicity’s first trip to the beach.  It was also all of our (except for my husband’s) first time to swim in the Atlantic Ocean!  We’ve all (minus  baby) swam in the Pacific, the {Read More}

Study the States – Road Trip Notebook

We just returned from one road trip, and are getting ready to hit the road again for the Teach Them Diligently Convention in Omaha! It was a little last minute, but a few days before we left for our Florida road trip, I threw together a couple of Road Trip Notebooks for the kids.  A little something to use for learning about each state we travel in.   They were to study the state while we were in it, collect {Read More}

Melts My Heart

One of my favorite things in life right now is watching my big kids love their baby sister. Mopping the floors today, I called upstairs, “Hey Trev…” T: “Yes?” Me: “Could you come down and feed Felicity?” T: “Oh YES!!  {Flies downstairs…} He’s had his baby sis in his life for 7.5 months now, and his enthusiasm for her hasn’t worn off yet. I love it… Just one of the many sweet joys I get  the privilege of experiencing in my {Read More}

Our New Adorable Niece

10 days ago, we became an Aunt and Uncle for the 7th time!  Our newest adorable little niece was born.  It was such a blessing to welcome this sweet new little one into the world with my sister and her family. I’ve been enjoying taking some photos of her, of course 😉 A few pics of this precious girl, Sally Jane…   Isn’t she just totally precious?!! One more thing I am pretty excited about…she and Felicity are only about {Read More}
