I Miss Blogging

Life is busy.  Wonderfully busy.  I am enjoying this season, with all of it’s new and exciting changes.  It is so much fun having a baby in our home again.  She is such a joy.  The big kids adore her.  We all adore her.  We lovingly call her our little sunshine.  In fact, I finally decided on a theme for her room.  “Sunshine.”  Slowly, but surely I’m working on creating her sunshine room.  I’ve been collecting some fun ideas on {Read More}

4 Months Old – and a Little Rambling

Life has been extra fun for the past 4 months. I’ve barely blogged since Felicity’s birth. I’m enjoying her SO crazy much! Every time I think about her and how thankful I am for her, an insane amount of joy fills my heart. I can’t even begin to put my thoughts and emotions into words that do them justice. So instead, I enjoy & soak up each sweet, wonderful moment. It still feels like she was just born- but at {Read More}

If You Give a Pregnant Mom a Pickle…

Trevor handed me a story he wrote for me this morning…it’s so awesome I had to share it with you all! If You Give a Pregnant Mom a Pickle by Trevor (9 yrs old) If you give a pregnant mom a pickle, she’ll want some ice cream to go with it.  She will look in the freezer and realize she is out of it.  She she will go to the store and buy some.   She came home and was {Read More}

Developing a Love for Reading in Your Child

As I stepped into the role of mother, almost 10 years ago, one thing I knew I wanted to instill in my children was a love for reading.  I became convinced of the great importance of this while in college studying elementary education. (More on that in a moment) I personally did not read frequently as a child, and for the most part, I did not enjoy it.  I usually only read if I had to for school.  I had {Read More}

Ballet Recital 2012

   My little ballerina!  Zoe just completed her year of ballet in May with a beautiful recital.  She and her class danced to “My Life is in You Lord” and it was absolutely adorable and sweet!!  It was such a joy to watch her grow and learn this year in ballet.  She is my little fun ball of energy, but when it came to ballet, she was completely focused and attentive.  She hung on every move her instructors taught her, {Read More}

Dancing Queen

My little Zoe’s personality at it’s finest! My kids and their cousins had an impromptu Easter dance party, and when the camera’s out Zoe is in her element: the spotlight. She sure keeps life fun!

Just Gettin’ By…

I know it’s been quiet around here.  I haven’t posted since announcing our BIG News! I’ve just been exhausted.  And nauseous.  Just trying to get by each day with the bare minimum….feeding the kids, and teaching school.  Cleaning….what’s that again?  Facebook?  Blah!  Even taking pictures?  No thanks!  I just dont feel like anything much that I usually do.  But I know we must press on with our schoolwork, and so I do.  And food…we have to eat…at least the kids do. {Read More}

Our Advent Countdown Activity Calendar

I found this great Advent Activity Calendar on Pinterest this week and knew it was the ONE for us! The tutorial can be found HERE at The Crafting Chicks! I printed out their cute numbers from their site for mine.  Everything else on mine is a tad different.  I couldn’t find the library envelopes they suggested, so I made my own out of sparkly Christmas cardstock! Here is our version: Oh, be sure to wave “hi” to my kitty, Lucy. {Read More}

Advent: A Season of Waiting and Anticipation

The Advent season is upon us. One of my favorite times of the year. There are always so many things I want to do during this time.  I often choose to try to do too many of them, and end up doing none of them very well.  Can you relate? As a mom, my responsibility and privelage is to point my children to Christ day in and day out.  At Christmas time it is a joy and delight to make {Read More}

Giving Thanks

I tend to get so busy this time of year.  Sometimes it is hard to remember to pause the busyness, and be intentional in our daily lives.   This morning, I totally last minute threw together our thankful tree.   It’s not too late…you can too!   I love this yearly tradition we do in our family that causes us to take time to recognize all we have to be thankful to God for each and every day of the {Read More}
