Our Chore & Routine System {Vlog}

My son and I created a vlog on how our chore & routine system works.  This system kills 2, well really 3, birds with one stone.  Not only does it help them complete their daily chores, it also regulates electronic time, and helps teach saving/spending principles. I came up with this system about 2 years ago, and have loved how well it has worked for our family.  We were really looking for 2 big things with our kids at the {Read More}

8 Tips for Simply Organizing a Garage Sale

We had a garage sale at our house this past weekend for the first time in 3 years.  This is not my favorite thing to do.  I dislike hosting garage sales because they are a lot of work (especially with a baby to care for), they are exhausting, and some of the customers are not fun to deal with.  BUT – what I do love about it is that it pushes me to go through my house and de-clutter.  I {Read More}

Alright, so this might seem a little silly to some….but this was a BIG deal to me today – so I have to share it!! I have this wonderful old Kitchen Aid mixer my grandma gave me several years ago (her old mixer).  I have no idea how old this baby is, but I love it!  It is still working like a champ!  I get so much great use out of it, and I will use it as long as {Read More}

Wordless Wednesday ~ Laundry Helpers

Have I ever mentioned how much I love having little laundry helpers? Well, they are pretty awesome!

A Week of Organizing

One of the many perks of homeschooling: If I want to take off a week from “school” to do some home organizing while all the public school children head “back to school”  – I CAN! Oh the beauty of homeschooling.  Granted, organizing the kids rooms, the guest room, my room, the school room, etc….isn’t exactly FUN.  But hey, it needed to be done. And while we were “on break” – we weren’t really on break.  We were learning.  Learning how {Read More}

Trivial Pursuits

This is one of the many lessons it seems God has been beating me over the head with teaching me lately. 🙂  How easy it is for me to get sucked into the meaningless.  To run after so many pursuits, but neglect the most important pursuits of my life.  My husband, my children, my home, my God, my relationships!  Because really, at the end of the day, those are the only things that will have mattered in my life.   {Read More}

Thought I better check in on my blog!  I would really like to get back to blogging more!  I miss it! Alright, it’s late…I feel {Read More}

The Mundane

Love this quote from Carolyn Mahaney on the Girl Talk Blog.  Dear homemaker, wife, mother…May it encourage your heart today, as it does mine: I got out of bed each morning so that I could do everything I did the day before. I washed the dishes so they could be dirtied again. I ironed the clothes so they could be worn and wrinkled again I wiped noses so they could run again. I picked up toys so they could be {Read More}
