What’s in Our Easter Baskets This Year?

    I like to try to pick things for the kids Easter Baskets that have something to do with Christ, and developing a relationship with Him.  So here is what we have going in their baskets for this year… Trevor (11.5 years old): Reel Kids Adventure Story Book Set – Trevor loves to read! A boys devotional book   Zoe (9.5 years old) Zoe’s favorite Christian Artist right now (and she doesn’t have this cd yet) Zoe’s other favorite {Read More}

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Merry Christmas!  I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas & a Happy New Year!  Praying each of you know the love of  our Savior, Jesus,  this Christmas and always.  May our focus be on Him, and the awesomeness of what He came to do for us!  My heart swells with JOY at the sheer thought! On a blogging note, I would like to apologize for my undeclared, unplanned blogging break.  I am planning to get back into the swing {Read More}

Father’s Day Candy Card {Don’t Just Pin it – DO it}

  The kids and I had so much fun today working on this fun little Father’s Day project we found on Pinterest.  We ended up combining two different cards I had pinned, AND added our own flair to it! One card idea came from THIS site.  The other one we pulled some ideas from was from HERE. My son came  up with the clever idea & line for adding the Starburst, since my husband prefers fruity candy.  We also decided {Read More}

I wanted to take a minute to say Happy New Year to my readers! I am currently riding along I-10 through Florida as my husband drives us home from our trip to Florida to see my grandparents! We have had a wonderful time with them, and made some great memories for us and the kids! I’ll be having some picture posts coming soon from Christmas and our trip, but for now, I’ll pop in to say hi, and start the {Read More}

Our Advent Countdown Activity Calendar

I found this great Advent Activity Calendar on Pinterest this week and knew it was the ONE for us! The tutorial can be found HERE at The Crafting Chicks! I printed out their cute numbers from their site for mine.  Everything else on mine is a tad different.  I couldn’t find the library envelopes they suggested, so I made my own out of sparkly Christmas cardstock! Here is our version: Oh, be sure to wave “hi” to my kitty, Lucy. {Read More}

Reflecting on a Month of Thankfulness

Thankfulness – to God – should occur every day.  It should be on our hearts and our tongues in everything, the good and the bad. “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”  1 Thess 5:18 This year on my personal facebook page I participated in 30 days of Thankfulness, posting what I am thankful for every day of the month of November. Here are my 30 days of Thankfulness status updates: Missed {Read More}

Advent: A Season of Waiting and Anticipation

The Advent season is upon us. One of my favorite times of the year. There are always so many things I want to do during this time.  I often choose to try to do too many of them, and end up doing none of them very well.  Can you relate? As a mom, my responsibility and privelage is to point my children to Christ day in and day out.  At Christmas time it is a joy and delight to make {Read More}

Happy Thanksgiving 2011!

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow!! I don’t know about you, but my day today was spent “setting up the pins,” as Sara Groves would say. 🙂 Enjoy spending time with family and friends tomorrow, and taking time to reflect on God’s faithfulness in your life.  Happy Thanksgiving!

Giving Thanks

I tend to get so busy this time of year.  Sometimes it is hard to remember to pause the busyness, and be intentional in our daily lives.   This morning, I totally last minute threw together our thankful tree.   It’s not too late…you can too!   I love this yearly tradition we do in our family that causes us to take time to recognize all we have to be thankful to God for each and every day of the {Read More}
