Celebrating Easter – Easter Mountain

This week, I will be reposting some ideas from past blog posts – to give you some great ideals for celebrating a Christ-centered Easter!  The kids and I will be spending the week with these fun-Christ-centered activities as we turn our focus to the awesome gift of Christ’s death and resurrection – to pay the price for OUR sin!!! {Photo Credit: DesigingGod.org} This first activity comes from Noel Piper’s book, Treasuring God in Our Traditions!  She just has some wonderful Christ-centered {Read More}

Valentine’s Day – We NEED “Especially” Days!

An Excerpt from Treasuring God in Our Traditions, by Noel Piper “No!” our college friend squawked. “All days are not the same!  God knows we need ‘especially.’” He’d heard it once too often, somebody pontificating, “Every day should be Mother’s Day,” or “Every day should be as significant as Christmas.” God knows we need ‘especially’ – that was a new thought to me back then.  And it’s true.  God himself appointed special days, such as Passover, for his people and {Read More}

10 Ways to Love Your Husband

For Goal Setting Part 1, click HERE Things to remember in making and achieving goals: If you do not set goals, you will likely end up with many regrets at the end of a day, month, year, decade, etc.   You will likely come to the end of the day or year and be in the same place you started, or worse – behind!   Setting goals helps us to make the best use of our time – as I {Read More}

Christmas Fellowship Fun with Friends

Last week some friends gathered at my house for a ladies gift exchange/baking exchange.  Most of these ladies and I enjoyed meeting weekly for a year or two for book studies.  We had a great time at our little party!  We swapped goodies and made goody bags to deliver to our neighbors. We had a fun little $5 gift exchange, and did a Christmas Trivia quiz! My 8-months-pregnant-with-her-fourth-child sister, Lara! 🙂 Enjoying the gift exchange, and some goodies! Jill, trying {Read More}

Thanksgiving Thoughts

“give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”  1 Thess 5:18 This Thanksgiving, as I ponder the things I am thankful to God for, something that keeps coming to the forefront of my mind is the idea of being thankful in all circumstances: the good and the bad.  It’s more than just an idea.  It is Biblical. Don’t believe me?  See the above verse.  Still don’t believe me?  Think about the {Read More}

The Power of the Cross!!

Christmas 2009

Well we had a wonderful Christmas this year.  3, no 4 of them to be exact!  One at my mom’s, one at our house, and one down in Houston with Jared’s family.  We also had one extra one stuck in there the day after Christmas in Houston.
