Our Chore & Routine System {Vlog}

My son and I created a vlog on how our chore & routine system works.  This system kills 2, well really 3, birds with one stone.  Not only does it help them complete their daily chores, it also regulates electronic time, and helps teach saving/spending principles. I came up with this system about 2 years ago, and have loved how well it has worked for our family.  We were really looking for 2 big things with our kids at the {Read More}

8 Tips for Simply Organizing a Garage Sale

We had a garage sale at our house this past weekend for the first time in 3 years.  This is not my favorite thing to do.  I dislike hosting garage sales because they are a lot of work (especially with a baby to care for), they are exhausting, and some of the customers are not fun to deal with.  BUT – what I do love about it is that it pushes me to go through my house and de-clutter.  I {Read More}

Book Holder {Don’t Just Pin it – DO it!}

Ok! I am FINALLY getting my own post up, to link to my new weekly link-up: Don’t Just Pin it- DO it! We spent this past weekend celebrating my husbands 33rd birthday. It was a sweet, fun family weekend. We even snuck in our first alone date since Felicity’s birth as part of the celebration. That brings me to my Pinterest post for this week! I didn’t have a chance to do anything new last week- so I am posting {Read More}

Pinterest Productivity

 Alright, raise your hand if you are totally digging Pinterest! Ok hands down.  Oh.My.Goodness.  Is it not just about the best website ever invented?!  Seriously.  If you are not on it, you are totally missing out. Might I go as far as to say that (*gasp*) it’s even better than facebook?!  Ok, ok, maybe that is a little harsh.  I mean, they are two totally different animals. I guess what I mean about comparing it to Facebook is that unlike {Read More}

A Week of Organizing

One of the many perks of homeschooling: If I want to take off a week from “school” to do some home organizing while all the public school children head “back to school”  – I CAN! Oh the beauty of homeschooling.  Granted, organizing the kids rooms, the guest room, my room, the school room, etc….isn’t exactly FUN.  But hey, it needed to be done. And while we were “on break” – we weren’t really on break.  We were learning.  Learning how {Read More}

Goal Setting ~ Part 2

For Goal Setting Part 1, click HERE Things to remember in making and achieving goals: If you do not set goals, you will likely end up with many regrets at the end of a day, month, year, decade, etc.   You will likely come to the end of the day or year and be in the same place you started, or worse – behind!   Setting goals helps us to make the best use of our time – as I {Read More}

A Year of Blogging (or lack thereof) ~ 2010

2010 has not been a great blogging year for me.  My posts have been practically non-existent.  I took a look back at what this year has looked like -blog wise – and it was a bit disturbing.  My most viewed posts were actually from years past!  But hey, I guess we all have years like that sometimes.  Blogging  just didn’t make the top of my to-do list. This year has also given me time to reflect on my blogging, and {Read More}

Summer Planning & Scheduling

     Do you plan out your summers?  Do you schedule in fun activities, and daily routines to keep the time from slipping away, or do you drift along through the summer only to find yourself at the end of it saying, “where did the summer go”?   I confess I am not usually very purposeful during this season.  I normally tend to let the time just float on by, doing activities on a whim as they might come about.  While I don’t  think there {Read More}

Busy Weekend

Routines for Young Children (Pre-Readers)

   I have created a couple new charts for my kids, to help keep them on track in the mornings and evenings.  I think this is a great way to give them a little more independence over getting themselves ready.  My kids are 5 & 3.  My five year old is pretty good about sticking to his routines, but still gets off track at times.  My 3 year old does some of her morning routine independently but still relies on {Read More}
