Missing You Corbin Elijah, on Your 2nd Birthday!

Remembering our little Corbin Elijah today, on his second still-birthday.  We still miss him so, and wish he could have been part of our family here on earth.  I know he is having a WAY better time in heaven than he would have ever had here with us….but still, we miss him!

This picture was from, I believe, about his 15 week sonogram.  He was adorable, kicking around, having a good ol’ time in the womb!  Only 4 or 5 weeks after this photo, he stopped kicking…his little heart had stopped beating, and he was instantly in heaven.

Glory Baby, by Watermark

Glory baby you slipped away as fast as we could say baby…baby..
You were growing, what happened dear?
You disappeared on us baby…baby..
Heaven will hold you before we do
Heaven will keep you safe until we’re home with you…
Until we’re home with you…

Miss you everyday
Miss you in every way
But we know there’s a
day when we will hold you
We will hold you
You’ll kiss our tears away
When we’re home to stay
Can’t wait for the day when we will see you
We will see you
But baby let sweet Jesus hold you
‘till mom and dad can hold you…
You’ll just have heaven before we do
You’ll just have heaven before we do

Sweet little babies, it’s hard to
understand it ‘cause we’re hurting
We are hurting
But there is healing
And we know we’re stronger people through the growing
And in knowing-
That all things work together for our good
And God works His purposes just like He said He would…
Just like He said He would…

BRIDGE:
I can’t imagine heaven’s lullabies
and what they must sound like
But I will rest in knowing, heaven is your home
And it’s all you’ll ever know…all you’ll ever know…

  1. I feel like such a bad sister!!! We were with you all evening long and I completely forgot today was that day! Please forgive me. I think about my nephews often, too, and you guys and all you’ve been through. It hurt so much to see you lose Corbin and your other children. I love you, Katie, and the whole Haggard crew.

  2. Losing a child is heartbreaking. But I’m so thankful that as believers we don’t have to walk through that grief alone and that there is the knowledge of being reunited once again.

  3. That is such a beautiful poem/song. Thank you for sharing it! I am also a mother to two little babies in Jesus’ arms. Such a blessing to be a believer and know that my babies are hearing the voices of angels until we can be with them for all eternity. I am also blessed to homeschool my son, who is our special gift from God through adoption.
I am so sorry for the loss of your son, and send hugs your way to celebrate your whole family (both seen and unseen).
