In my life this week…

This week was a busy blogging week.  I have really enjoyed getting back to blogging, and working on changing things up around here.  I have been trying to make the site more user friendly, while also, sprucing up the look a bit.  I purchased some of the cute new things you are seeing from the etsy shop Le Charmed Boutique.  She did an awesome job, and was super affordable!  If you are looking to have any digital design work done, I would HIGHLY recommend her! (And that is just my plain and simple honest opinion!)
Some posts from this week (in case you missed them):

In our homeschool this week…

As I think I’ve mentioned before, we homeschool through the summer – aka – year round school.  We enjoyed a LOT of traveling during the month of May, and took a few weeks off for that.  We also move to a lighter, 3-day/week schedule for the summer so that we can have a couple days to enjoy some summer fun.  In Texas, that usually consists of either:  A. something in the water, or B. something in the air conditioning.  So we are still plugging along in our school work at a nice summer pace of 3-days per week! 🙂

Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…

Even if you do not school through the summer, like we do, it is a great idea to still use the summer for learning time.  That could look like:

  • sharpening up on math, reading, or any skill that your child might struggle in.  Even if its just some fun games, apps, online programs, etc.
  • using the summer to work on something you might not otherwise get to during the school year, like an art program, or learning computer/keyboarding skills, etc
  • Doing some fun delight-directed learning activities. Gather library books & activities online based on some topic your child is interested in.

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…

We had some sweet friends over this week who will be moving away soon.  It was nice getting to spend that time with them.  You can read a little more about that here.

I’m praying for…

This week my heart has been burdened to pray for our pastors.  From my Facebook page:

The Lord is really impressing this on my heart this morning – PRAY for your pastors! …

“Brothers, pray for us.” (1 Thess 5:25 ESV)
“Let the thought sink deep into the heart of every church, that their minister will be such a minister as their prayers make him. . . How perilous is the condition of that minister . . . whose heart is not encouraged, whose hands are not strengthened, and who is not upheld by the prayers of his people!

“It is at a fearful expense that ministers are ever allowed to enter the pulpit without being preceded, accompanied, and followed by the earnest prayers of the churches. It is no marvel that the pulpit is so powerless, and ministers so often disheartened when there are so few to hold up their hands. . . When the churches cease to pray for ministers, ministers will no longer be a blessing to the churches.” Gardiner Spring (1785-1873)

My heart has also been heavy for our nation – praying for our leaders as they make decisions regarding the unborn and marriage legality.
